Veil Of The Black Mirror

I tear the veil
From the black mirror
Reflection
Surface bubbles and smokes

New medieval wars

Brueghel's kaleidoscope
Burnt trees, disfigured shapes
Dispossessed
Сovered with soot and blood
Rushing through the streets

Through the flaming streets
Majestic Death passes
With a bridal veil
Supported by a retinue
Of devoted courtiers

War, Famine and Plague

They follow the ark
With the defiled remains
Of the old gods,
Exposed to outrage

Cavalcade of riders,
On horseback march
Through a devastated town,
With a dirty gray
Pest banner in the hall
And the march of rats
Follow step by step

Where the new Witch Hunt victims
Are writhing in flames

Where the wild laughter
Of lepers, jesters and clowns
Drowns out the cries
And groans
Of the dying and the mad

Once clear windows
In the House of God
Are covered with soot and mud,
And the golden light of faith
No longer descends
On the distressed flock

The era of general prosperity
Has ended,
And our world drifts
Into the twilight times

The soft underbelly
Of the serenity era
Ripped open
With a rusty hook

And so, we stand,
As before
The flooding of Atlantis
And the fire
In Alexandria
Each on his own
Distant shore

And only the lonely shape of a knight
Playing chess with death
